Credits are how Kinova meters video generation. Each model charges per second of video generated — for example, a 5-second Kling 3.0 clip costs 25 credits. Premium models like Veo 3 or Seedance cost more credits per second. You'll see the exact credit cost before generating each clip.
It depends on your model and how many retries you use. On Starter (1,000 credits), most creators make 6–10 ready-to-post shorts per month using Kling 3.0 as the default model.
Each generation attempt uses credits, including retries. If you regenerate clips multiple times, credits add up quickly. Switching to a more efficient model or approving clips sooner helps stretch your balance further.
Plan credits reset at the start of each billing cycle — they don't roll over. Your 200 signup bonus credits never expire and stay with your account. Top-up credits expire 60 days after purchase.

When you generate a video, we spend your signup bonus first, then your plan credits, and finally your top-up credits — so top-ups stick around even if your subscription renews.
Your upgrade takes effect immediately. We refund the unused value of your current plan as an account credit (applied to the new charge), and your new plan's credits are added right away. Your signup bonus and any top-up credits are preserved — only the old plan's unused credits are cleared. Example: upgrading from Starter ($29, 1,000 credits) to Pro ($89) with 800 paid credits unused → $23.20 account credit, charged $65.80, new plan adds 4,000 Pro credits on top of your bonus and top-ups.
Your downgrade is scheduled for the end of your current billing cycle. You'll keep your current plan benefits until then, and the new plan starts with fresh credits.
